OOC INFORMATION

At The Keys

Even if it says I'm AFK in my description, it's possible that I am still able to respond because I'm at my computer, working. My apologies that it's something of a guessing game, but it's either that or continually misleading passers-by that I'm paying attention to the game when it's really minimized in my taskbar.

Paragraphs

I've seen the various trends in roleplay styles, and I think proper use of the written language and articulacy are a better indication of writing skill than pages upon pages of dull mental commentary, flowery purple prose, dropping articles and pronouns, and thesaurus abuse. Whether you're writing two lines or ten pages each turn, I'll work on matching it.

Rules

You've already read the same tired old rules on fifty million other character websites. If you believe auto-hitting or reacting to my character's actions on a personal level is appropriate, you don't care about rules anyway. So here's all I want you to do: have fun and be creative! That's what we're doing here, right? Please let me know if you're not having fun, and we can work together to fix it or go our separate ways.

Mind

  • Personality: Quiet and reserved, but can be very deadpan and sarcastic when unconcerned about their "wild" upbringing causing social missteps.

  • Mannerisms: Often uses a small ball of magically produced flame in the palm of their paw as a source of prepared defense as well as light. (The latter not very necessary for themself.)

  • Likes: Their brother, the feeling of safety, their home grotto, communing through dance with nature

  • Dislikes: Unnatural death, even if it's one of the creatures who've been attacking their party. They will defend their friends to the bitter end, but they don't have to like it.

Magic Items

Thunderstrike Twins
Weapon (clubs), uncommon (requires attunement)
These twin clubs are made of dense, dark wood, with intricate runes etched along their lengths. When wielded, they emanate a low hum, hinting at the powerful enchantment within.Magic Bonus: Thunderstrike Twins are a pair of +1 clubs. This means that each club gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls.Thunderous Resonance: Upon scoring a critical hit with either club, the wielder can choose to activate the Thunderous Resonance ability. The targeted creature must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 13) or be deafened until the end of its next turn. Additionally, the wielder gains advantage on Intimidation checks against the affected creature for the next minute, as the sound of the powerful blows instills fear.Linked Empowerment: When both Thunderstrike Twins are wielded simultaneously by the same creature, their magical energies resonate. The wielder gains a +1 bonus to their Armor Class while both clubs are in hand.Harmony of Strikes: If the wielder makes an attack with one club and follows it up with an attack from the other in the same turn, they gain a +2 bonus to the damage roll of the second attack. This represents the seamless flow of strikes when using the twin clubs in tandem.Acquired when party mate Gorgax Bonerekka used his possessed axe to chop their existing quarterstaff into twin clubs.

ANGELUNE | a stranded raccoon

Body

  • Nicknames: Angie, Medic

  • Gender: Cis female (she/her)

  • Age: 40 winters

  • Race: Raccoon

  • Job: Medic

  • Hair: Blonde/green/blue starting from her scalp

  • Eyes: Vivid green

  • Handedness: Left

🌧️

Slowly but steadily, the chilly winds and angry stormclouds are dying down, allowing warmth to permeate the air. Try to make an effort not to sit in any seat Angelune has been in recently—it's sure to be covered in coarse white hairs as she's begun to rapidly shed her winter fur coat.

☀️

Heat of the summer months pounds down across the land, but Angelune's coat has shed to reveal her thinner, truer dark coloration, easing the discomfort greatly. It still doesn't help, however, that Angelune insists upon wearing every unattended rag she comes across—life without a home tends to inspire a packrat mentality despite its downfalls.

🍂

The summer heat is beginning to yield to the chill of a newborn winter, and Angelune hasn't had a chance to grow in her thicker, brighter winter coat yet. She'll be uncomfortably cold in outside conditions if she hasn't managed to bundle up properly. Sooner or later snowy white fur will begin to spring up amidst her darker coat, an event she greatly looks forward to.

❄️

As the days turn crisper, the nights chillier, Angelune itches her uncomfortable arms and legs and anywhere else she can discreetly attend to as her fur lightens and her hair shines with soft pastels. Once the thick, shielding hairs are in place she'll be able to enjoy the wintery season in complete comfort. It is her favorite season, after all.

This character does not canonically have wings. If she appears to, it is just because I enjoy seeing them on her avatar.Lyssic made my gorgeous portrait! Go give that person love and commissions!

Mind

  • Personality: Ready to help but reserved and shy

  • Mannerisms: Stutters, nervously checks her pockets for objects she knows are there over and over, counts hairs on her tail repeatedly, etc.

  • Likes: Alcohol, solitude

  • Dislikes: Social situations, having any kind of spotlight on her, being sober, needing to depend on anyone else for food or shelter

Soul

At merely four winters of age, Angie's tiny rural village was attacked and ravaged by a large group of furres who were involved in the very profitable slave-trading business. They simply burned and tore down huts and ransacked them for the residents to sell and their possessions to steal.Because the young raccoon was nearly dead upon discovery thanks to their brutality, she was brought to a healer who performed heavy regenerative magic upon her poor body for weeks on end. Such a strong and prolonged exposure to the magic at such a young age had caused two strange reactions in Angie's body. One of these reactions was a temporary mutation of her hair's pigment from the usual blonde to sky blue, and the other was the sensitivity to magic awakening within her.Angie spent the following ten winters of her life as her savior's house slave. She was young and frail and thus mostly useless to him, but he was elderly and needed medical attention, so he bestowed his knowledge upon her over the time she was there and he assigned her as one of his primary caretakers. After her sixteenth winter, Angie was amongst a small group of slaves who were able to flee when their master passed away. She was discovered weeks later by a band of nomadic furres—again on the brink of death. Brought along with the wanderers, allowed to stay with them in exchange for her skill in healing, Angie was shown more traditional means of tending to the sick and injured—with bandages and medicines both primitive and modern. Many winters later, their migration led them to Kasuria, where Angie departed from the band and sought out a life of her own.Now at roughly 40 winters of age, Angie still has entirely no idea what her true name really is. "Angelune" is merely one that she was given, based on the properties of her talent, by the small colony she traveled with. She is also homeless, but she would never willingly outright admit it for fear of being asked to, what she perceives as, "intrude".

GENOTHYST | hellcat at large

Body

  • Nicknames: Geno, Hellcat

  • Gender: Cis female (she/her)

  • Age: She doesn't know, but at least 30

  • Race: Hellcat (demon/cat hybrid)

  • Weight: Unhealthily skinny

  • Hair: Purple

  • Eyes: Violet

  • Handedness: Right

  • Scars: Too many to list. Most notable is an almost dotted looking scar around her abdomen

Unmistakably feline at first glance, Genothyst's white fur is covered in icy blue stripes from her cheeks to her tail. Dirty amethyst hair falls clear to her waist, matching her eyes and the scraggly tuft of hair at the end of her tail. Around her waist circles a faint dotted-line shaped scar. A pair of leathery black wings extend from her shoulderblades—they've atrophied from lack of use, and the membranes are scarred and torn. It's probably obvious that she hasn't faced hard labor, combat or large portions of food in her recent years. She is ghastly thin and weak from malnutrition. Only vaguely aware of her heritage and convinced she's far stronger than she really is, the hellcat's overconfidence does nothing to aid her horrible disadvantage. On each wrist, ankle, shoulder and thigh rests a thick, cracked black leather strap which each brandishes a rusty silver ring. A tattered black velvet corset reaches nearly to her waist, a matching skirt to her ankles. Blue ribbons lace up her chest and the outside of each thigh. Just like her fur and hair, each and every piece of clothing is mottled and stiff with caked grime.

Apologies for the broken links in this profile. Though I know these websites are long gone, I preserved them here out of respect for their creators. If I find or am told of new information for them I will happily update the links so they work again.

Mind

  • Personality: Aggressive, angry, paranoid

  • Mannerisms:

  • Likes: Stretching her wings, the open skies, anything that allows her to pretend she can fly

  • Dislikes: Being contained, vampires, reminders of who and what she is, the inability to fly, practically everything

Soul

Genothyst's earliest memories come from that of a widely-known slave house, in which she was employed with menial unpaid labor throughout her childhood. Curiously, her origins have never interested her very much, but she'd heard mention now and then of being purchased from an auction house as an infant. It was obvious that whatever circumstance brought her into the world (rape, the more cruel masters sneered, that's what demons do to pretty young girls) had rendered her unlovable. Fitting for an unloving hellcat. The hybrid cat grew into her teens knowing only the obedience expected by the facility, but her soul held an unquenchable fire inside her frail body. It slowly smoldered and eventually the taunting desire to leave just as the regulars and employees did overtook her common sense until she was frustratingly impossible to control. As she became maddened by the ideal of freedom, she simply dismissed the abuse her rage caused in punishment and quickly earned a reputation for being one of the most hostile creatures in the pens, once she was old enough to be placed in them.Several years into her life as an adult house slave, she was finally purchased by a tiger-demon known as Grimm Teranova. A purebed creature of Hell himself, Grimm discovered and told her that kindred blood flowed through her veins. She was to be trained to aid the cult of Malphas in the hunting and killing of angels and their kin. He was a fair and unique master, and she learned to trust and respect him better than any other prior slaver she'd come across. She remained with him for several months, long enough to learn her tasks within the house and receive only mild training for her purpose there.Calculated patience and fake trustworthiness benefited her greatly, as one evening she was able to flee. Fatally wounding one and injuring others, Geno made it back to Kasuria, where she loitered cautiously about the many slave trading facilities there to scavenge for food and shelter. Her freedom didn't last long, however, and she was collared again by Morisha and brought to the desert, where she remained captive in his Desert Oasis club—until she hitched a ride on a departing freight caravan and made it back to Kasuria once again. One day alchemist Rikaru Nimorte, during a chance meeting in The Slave Chambers, gave her the "Phoenix Ring of Regeneration". The equipped ring instantly engulfed injuries in flame and magically healed them. Frightened by the fire, Geno never equipped the ring again, instead simply kept it with her as a means of currency until one day giving it to Loki Laufeyjarson as payment for fighting lessons.Genothyst remains on the run.

[INCOMPREHENSIBLE GIBBERISH]

Body

  • Nicknames: Tailkid, You, Hey, That fucking thing, etc.

  • Gender: Unknown (any pronouns, but they/them preferred)

  • Age: The dragons have sung three times

  • Race: The best, obviously

  • Handedness: Right

  • Complexion: Normal

  • Fur: Normal

  • Hair: Normal

  • Eyes: Normal

  • Everything: NORMAL. STOP ASKING.

Lithe and sleek, their catlike body was made for balancing on slender branches and quiet travel through forest canopies. Their hair—judging from its ragged split ends, it doesn't get very much attention—reaches clear down to the base of their tail. In tufts upon their shoulders, elbows, knees, heels and clear down the front of their torso sprouts particularly thick fur. Several feet longer than they are tall, their bushy, prehensile tail provides an excellent tool in their natural forest habitat. As just another average member of just another average family in their tribe, they were raised with no demand for modesty beyond what the fuzz covering their entire front quite effectively hides. Otherwise, they constantly wear three small silver rings pierced into both of their pointed ears, and several more of these rings are braided into their hair.Though they always appear bright and colorful, naturally their fur and hair are ghostly white, eyes pinkish-red. As a completely pale member of an otherwise brilliantly-colored race, they have always been deeply ashamed of their albinism and covered it up with custom mek (cybernetic implants) the minute they had found a chop shop capable of performing the procedure. Because it operates by shining light through the translucent strands covering their body, their eyes remain unaltered. They change their coat's colors to whatever suits their fancy whenever it suits their fancy to do so, but their favorite color combinations generally involve green and gray in varying intensities. The thin fiberoptic wires which network through their flesh, additionally, serve as a light armor reinforcement against physical harm. Unfortunately, because they had their mek installed by a chop shop for the sake of saving cash, they are at a higher risk of a hardware malfunction. A short could result in anything between loss of control over their colors to extreme pain jolting through their body until their mek can be disabled or repaired.

Mind

  • Personality: Inquisitive, very curious, unfamiliar with known social norms

  • Mannerisms: They just want to be your friend. Please don't mind them pawing at your face or anything like that.

  • Likes: Colors, being praised for the colors of their fur (they're particularly fixated on this), friends

  • Dislikes: Any and all criticism of someone's appearance

Soul

Within the brightly colored mountain forest tribes of their species, the youngster was born with albinism. Although their species, which lives in the mountain forests on Route 7-6 (between Tiphareth and Netzach in Yetzirah) off the native fruits and berries in wooden and leather structures carefully built into the trees, is primitive in tradition, they were not so ignorant as to purposely alienate them because of their unique condition. However, the children they grew up with were still children, and the teasing came relentlessly throughout their early life.As horribly wounded and confused children are apt to do, they fled from their tribe in their early teens with whatever precious gems and other valuables they could find within their family's home. They made their way down to Hod, but before quite reaching Yesod they discovered the Nortcha Drif—which caught their curiosity quite well. Lurking about with their ears open, they picked up knowledge about the other sephira, the Ruin, and mek. Both fascinated and inspired by the concept of mek, they used the money taken from their family to find a specialist who could construct a device which enabled color in their fur. For a miniscule added fee, the shop even threw in the capability to alter their colors at their discretion. It was not long before they exited the Drif, and found themselves in Kasuria.

This character does not canonically have wings. If they appear to, it is just because I enjoy seeing them on their avatar.

Extra Things

This character's information is rather incomplete, but this is just about as close as I can get, as this species was not finalized before the continuity it was supposed to exist within ended. Here are a few questions that have come up.So, what's with the name?
Actually, this character doesn't have one. Or rather, it's uncertain exactly how the name should be pronounced in standard Kasurian language. Furthermore, they don't seem terribly interested in giving it out. Generally a response can be garnered with pointing, "hey you!" and other similar gestures.
What exactly are they supposed to be?
Their species, as of yet still unnamed, was made up by myself strictly to play in the Nortcha Drif continuity. I wanted a character that wasn't off-canon just for the sake of being "unique", but this character doesn't appear at all similar enough to the thirteen main races native to the Otz'Chim for me to feel comfortable calling them one. I asked the Nortcha Drif's owner for permission to create one of the "lesser" races, which I was granted. (I am so sorry that this resulted.)
Can I play one of their species?
Of course you can! The more the merrier, right? I feel lonely playing the only one. But it's not like I have a copyright on their distinctive features: a lithe feline with bright markings (stripes or spots), long fuzz on front, and a bushy tail longer than the body length. If other people ever show an interest, maybe we should come up with a name and lore for them together! Let me know so we can do this!
Seriously, is this character a boy or a girl?
Nah, not really.
